http://farecast.live.com/

Interesting site I stumbled across. It aims to predict, based on apparently a LOT of historical data, whether airfares to particular destinations will increase or decrease from now.

As a test, I put in a flight from EWR - LHR for next saturday, returning a week later. It seems to search travel sites (orbitz, expedia etc) and airlines, comes up with all the prices, shows a chart graphing the prices over the past 6 months, and then predicts whether prices will increase or decrease further. It suggests buying this particular flight now, and estimates with 81% confidence that the price will rise between now and next week. It will also show you, within a month or so, the cheapest days on which to travel, when prices go up and come down again.

Pretty interesting. Just thought I'd share [:)]

cool tool - thanks for sharing. I might finally be able to answer that age old query from clients 'will the fare go up or down?'!

Looks like a rebranded version of Kayak to me...
They display the 'fare prediction' as a chart of previous fares on that route...
