I know that this forum will probably be more biased towards travellers using the club house but does anyone have any experience with the VH V Room? As my daughter is 2.5 years old it will cost us 44 just trying to work out if its viable?

Hi,

I went in the v-room last August when I went to BGI. In my experiance it was OK, however I didn't really think that it's worth paying 44. It was very busy and at first we struggled to find a table, the buffet had very little food and the games room was busy, which meant that the kids wern't really able to use the computers/games consoles, this was at 0830 though! This could of been because it was the summer holidays but I heard Virgin keep track of the amount of people in the lounge but it didn't really seen that way.

I used the VRoom last November and found it quite quiet. This will obviously vary according to the day of the week and the time of day.

It isn't as posh as the VS lounge at LHR for instance but it was a nice place to hang out for a few hours with good views of the airfield.

The only thing I found was that it was hard to find a socket to plug my laptop into. Not that they were being used, they just didn't exist.

As regards the number of people using the room, VS must keep a tally so as not to exceed the fire regulations for the space.

Have a good trip.

If you were going to go for a lounge anyway my experience from last year was that it was reasonable value. It isn't a Clubhouse, and booze isn't free, but it was a respite from the terminal. I can't comment about the facilities for ankle biters as we took refuge in the 'grown ups only' bit.

We're using it again before our BGI flight this year.

Thanks for all the replies!

Having just checked my booking out, although we originally were going to book through VH we ended up booking direct with VS. ooops[:I]

Having traveled many times via the CH we wanted somewhere to take our daughter that was out of the way. Never mind back with the masses!

Cheers again.
