Right, I've managed to get 3 one way flights business class to MCO for next Easter using my BMI miles with Lufthansa via Frankfurt.

I am trying to book return one way flights MCO-MAN and the costs are out of this world, more expensive than a return flight. Is there another route that I could try ?

Any help would be appreciated.

One way flights are notoriously expensive - usually to the extent that the cost makes them too expensive to even consider.

There are ways of getting them, though. Lots of cruise deals for example include one way flights.

It may be worth trying a Cruise specialist travel agent for advice.

One way flights are usually fully flexible fares, hence the reason why they are so expensive.

Can't you just book a return flight and not use the second leg of the ticket?

I've done that before now when I've needed a one-way flight.

Airlines don't particulary like you doing this but as long as you show up for your first flight leg, there's not a lot they can do about it.

I have found a return flight with Virgin from Orlando to Manchester travelleing outbound UCS and Y return ( I would not take the return leg obviously ) Has anyone ever booked a return flight and just used one portion of it, or am I on sticky ground if they start asking questions.

Many people find a cheap deal for return flights and then things come up that mean they are unable to travel on their intended return date. Many of these tickets are non-changeable so they have to buy a new ticket.
The problem is that most VS tickets are return date changeable for GBP70 or GBP100 in Y so there unless there is no availability it is usually OK for people to change.

One-way flights for cruise specialists are allowed when combining with other carriers or using a fly/cruise itinerary. They are not allowed to sell them as one way flights.
