Love him or hate him aside, Michael Winner produces some entertaining reading over a Sunday breakfast for many, including me.

Here, after a review of Chewton Glen (which I have to agree with Mr W, has gone down hill over the years) is a vignette about airlines and again BA receives his wrath and Virgin gets his thumbs up

Perhaps, but I find I agree with him often when, as hackneyguy says, places do let their standards slide ...

Makes me laugh how its all to do with the waffles that Virgin should get support, although I do like the Willie Walsh puns, but I think Mr Winner should read V-flyer as isn't there a topic regarding the whole new planes only to be 2 class and not 3 class as there not operating routes with FIRST anyway.

quote:The set dinner, including coffee, petits fours and service, was 65. Thats 5.88 less than the ludicrous Devonshire Arms in Yorkshire. Chewton Glens food is far better.

See he has to have another dig at the Devonshire Arms. Its been a favorite of ours for a lot of years. My Mum was there end of last week and got the low down of Winner's visit a couple of weeks back. Winner's review..He apparently arrived in a fowl mood and with a full dinning room insisted he should jump the queue and be served ahead of dinners already seated. The chef said no,good on him, which incurred the pompous t***s wraith.Mum said it was impeccable and fantastic value at 164 a night for 2 inc breakfast and the 58 evening meal.
