Flying with Qatar

Just booked our November holiday to the Maldives and will be flying with Qatar.

I noticed that if Qatar Privilege Club members fly with Virgin, then they will get Q Miles etc.

Is anyone aware if I can obtain mile / tier points on my Virgin account rather than my Qatar account? I have searched the Virgin web page but can't find anything, just want to make sure that I didn't miss any information!

Afraid not. I tried this when I flew QR (also to the Maldives) a couple of years ago. I ended up opening a QR FF account in the end.

You can (or certainly could) spend QR miles on VS or BMI though.

If you join QF's frequent flyer program and do a return trip via Doha then you move up from their lowest level of membership and get excess baggage on your next flights. Just remembered that!
