Interesting story though. I assume this will be the first chance SRB has had to buy in the post-Bishop era of BMI. [?]

It will probably mean digging into his own war chest for the funds though. VS may have some cash reserves, but I think they are pretty much spoken for.

I am sure that the cavalier SRB of old would have jumped at the chance, but will the beancounters make him keep his hands in his pockets ... just in case? [n][n][V]

I'm not sure, LH were forced to buy BD, it's a money losing airline, the only thing of value are those slots and the aircraft, now how much would SRB be willing to pay for those.

It could give some nice opening for VS to expand of course.

This is the time when a brave move could probably reap huge benefits in the future.
