After a great 3 week holiday my Wife and I decided to spend the last two nights at the Hyatt MCO, I think this was a ploy on my Wife's part she could spend the last two days shopping major time in the Florida and Premium Malls! However, debit card well dented and an extra case! we really enjoyed our stay in the Hyatt after a great time in the Clearwater area.
This hotel has some great staff and was nearly empty, so we enjoyed cooling off in the pool after shopping and having drinks on the terrace watching VS depart with some great photo's to boot. What is it about us British that makes you so proud of anything that we see whilst abroad that has a Union Jack on it? All the departing Virgin 747's look so good roaring down the runway, it brings a lump to my throat seeing them lift off so gracefully.
Anyway back to the TR, our bags were loaded up and taken to the UC Check in area by teh Hyatt, a great touch, never touch them after packing them until Manx. Very friendly and plesant check in lady, we were through in no time. Off to the Delta lounge (not the best, but ok for cold drinks), our flight was called and off we went, straight into UC, greeted by some lovely, friendly girls who make you feel so relaxed and welcome, again drinks and assitance as soon as we were settled, (only juice, as neither of us drink! what a waste eh!).
Orders for meals, duty free and breakfast taken promptly and with high efficency as usual. The food was poor again, the crew were great as usual, so happy and friendly and chatty, really do Virgin proud. We had great crews on both flights, it really does make a difference to have good staff, and lately the staff have been top notch.
The food was poor again, and this is the only area I feel taht needs attention urgently, why do VS think that everyone who fly's UC wants dishes with exotic sounding names, that taste vile, rather than simple good honest British food we crave after a holiday in the US, shepards pie, cottage pie, baked potatoes, that sort of choice, rather than ironed beef with thin sliced potatoes and green beans in mush! The ice cream and scone are a winner on the outward journey, but nothing like that on the inward! Please sort it out, I beg of you!!!
The flight was quite bumpy, but ahead of time by nearly 40mins, so no complaints. Bags were waiting for us when we arrived at bag claim and off we went.
Thanks to ALL the crew for a great trip both ways, see you again March![^]
