Love Virgin use these boards and think I know most of my stuff in terms of bookings/miles etc...
So meet a guy in the US who books his Virgin mile rewards flights through ANA pays less tax and only 65,000 miles(or something like that)he simply transfers them from Amex to Ana unlike myself who transfers directly to Virgin. Is this a US thing or shoud I be doing it as well?
Then I meet another guy who used to use Virgin but now uses his Amex points by transfering them to BA. He then has a BA AMEx card that gives him a free reward flight (if he spends over 20,000) and books a BA first class flight for 150,000 points and gets a free reward seat (unlike my virgin free companion ticket that I have never been able to use)
So is my loyalty to Virgin both booking direct and when flying misguided if I collect over a millon amex points a year and can decide where I use them.
Just wanted views as I am confused and a bit peeved that it seems I should have been booking my Virgin reward flights with another company along time ago!
