I'm looking for suggestions for a 2 week family holiday - reqts;

1) 2 x adults, 2 x kids (age 9)
2) Sunny - 70f+
3) Preferably near a nice beach.
4) Swimming pool.
5) Not the generic Orlando Disnay-house/villa please!
6) Oh yes, dates are: May/June.

Not Middle East.
Would consider US (California, Florida, Carolina etc)
Would also condider far east.

Budget ~5K GBP'ish.

Marriott Hotel on Marco Island, Florida

Lovely location, great hotel & beach, and near by enough to do trips (Swamp tour etc)

We (me, partner, sister and her famly (hubby, mannny & kiddie winks (8 amd 11))) had a fabulous time there.

Australia??? Both Queensland and New South Wales have some great beaches which make for great beach holidays!!! Maybe a stop off in the far East, Even citys like Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok are quite child friendly.

I hear Hull is quite nice but it might not meet all of your criteria ...

June is the start of our winter though. Whilst a winter here in Queensland involves me possibly wearing a jumper in the evenings and it never dropping much below 22 degrees during the day, it would probably be better to visit Australia during spring or Autumn. Middle of summer (Jan) can be too hot for some not used to it.

LA - lots of nice beaches to choose from (Redondo, Huntington, Santa Monica, Venice etc). Plenty to do if you tire of the beach (Hollywood Boulevard, Rodeo Drive, Disneyland, Universal, Queen Mary etc). Lots of nice shopping malls (Glendale , The Grove etc). Makes a quick trip to Vegas viable too if you so wish [:D].

I'd go for California.... because I usually do.

Nice beaches with accompanying hotels.

Opportunity to go inland for interesting sites and other resorts (Yosemite/Tahoe out of SF. Vegas, Palm Springs, San Diego out of LA)

Good availability of Flights, sales and a better chance of rewards too!

Rent a fantastic villa in Cyprus or Greece.
