Sorry, I just had to share this...

I've never noticed this before; On the little faux silver salt and pepper shakers, they say 'Pinched from Virgin Atlantic' underneath... Gave me a giggle on the flight..!

Anyone else noticed that?!

Oh yes, it was actually pointed out to us by the FSM on our first UC flight. We have a few in a drawer but mainly get asked by friends if we can get some for them.

Some of the newer ones also say 'not pinched from Virgin Atlantic'. I too have a few of these at home. Think the CC must be quite used to them going missing, although I always ask first. Crew usually happy to let you take them. Make a nice little souvenir!

The crew did see me reading it and came over and said 'are you going to pinch them then?' to which I said 'maybe' and grinned, she replied 'I saw nothing...' and walked away [}:)]

I'd be happier if they just filled the darn things. Bah humbug!

You know, I never got around to taking a set in all those years of flying VS, and now I don't have one ...

We have quite a few sets, the CC even wrapped some for me.

I have a few, when asked the CC have also said 'I didn't see anything' [:D]

Also got some of the rare 'not pinched' ones when they gave them out on the 25th Birthday - those came in a little red bag emblazoned with the words 'With Condiments' on the side! [ii]

I have a 'pinched from' set which just fell into my pocket on a UC trip to SFO a couple of years back. Had dinner at the bar on the way backwhich made liberation more difficult. Looking forward to a UC trip to New york soon -- wonder what else is worth nicking?

I've got a sleep suit -- it never occurred to me to give it back!

As for the menu card -I rarely serve the same selection as VS UC at home so I have no need.

One of those Ottomans might come in useful mind you - must bring a screwdriver next time.

I have a kitchen drawer full of the s&p shakers, a crate full of menus, three cupboards full of (shhh!) amenity kits, half a wardrobe full of sleep suits, half a dozen purple and red cushions, a sofa, two stand up bars (one of them the original long one they had in the first A346s), seven bar stools, a flower holder and a cake stand. Oh, and a pen, a packet of Polos and a smelly toilet with a sticky floor.

Cheers, Howard

You didn't manage to nab a suite, Howard? For shame! [V]

Now we know why all the 'enhancements'. They haven't been withdrawn, Howard has them all.

My girlfriend and I flew UC (thanks to 30k FC miles) to Vegas last week and one of the many things she was looking forward to was getting her hands on a pair of these. She'd seen the ones my parents had and wanted some for herself.

The CC were definitely fine with it, offering to replace hers with an empty set. As far as I had heard, Branson had decided to add that little joke to the bottom of them as a marketing tool once he'd heard it was happening. A quick Google search appears to support that suggestion too.

Does Howard have a plane in his garage? Might be a cheaper location than Tarbes?

didn't manage to get the shakers but got a couple of the UC stubby pens and a longer one with the ref fin from the CH

will take bids when I return to blighty !
