In order to help me settle a bet can someone in the know please tell me if when arriving on a domestic BD flight and connecting to a VS flight at LHR, do you go landside, on arrival at terminal one and walk across to T3 or do you stay airside and connect as a connecting passenger? Both flights are on the same PNR!

According to the BAA website you can stay 'airside' by following the flight connections signs (sorry link to it is too long to post and dont know how to shorten it !)

However, I don't think this is compulsory and you can go the landside route if you want to ! If you have not checked through your luggage you will have to do this anyway !

If you are on the same PNR then your bags will in all probability tagged all the way through in which case you can decide whether to stay airside or go through the subway to T3. As far as I'm concerned it's as broad as it's long as you still have a security check at some stage during the transfer

HL I knew that you would respond as the guru of all things to do with connecting at LHR!! I thought that may be the case, for ease I think I will be telling my little sister to follow flight connections on Thursday morning (if only to avoid bumping into the Old Man at check in in Zone A....more will be revealed in the forthcoming TR!). Thanks ever so much for the responses guys!
