Arrrgh, did you have to post that they've arrived already? I'm stuck in Larrrrndan right now [:(]. I was looking forward to getting home tomorrow night anyway - now even more so! :)

Woooo - am back home, and what was waiting for me on the doorstep? Yeah, G-VSST, isn't she a beauty? :):):)

Only thing is - although the certificate says it's limited to 2000 pieces, there's no individual number on the cert, whereas there is on my model of G-VLIP [?]

That is crazy! Do those idiots buying G-VSST on eBay not know that they could have saved themselves a lot of money by ordering direct from VAA? Guess not! *giggle* :D

Ok ;)

Oh yeah! Guess what I received in the mail this morning! One gorgeous little Concorde model! Just around a week after placing my order too! :)

G-VSST is the first of the die-cast VS models I've bought. I'll have to get the others now as I can't have an incomplete collection! ;)

BTW, would this payment qualify for the 4x AMEX Gold MR points? :D

Well, I'm not sure if it did, but it appeared on my AMEX statement as "£21.00 VIRGIN ATLANTIC FREEWAY SUPPORT" :D

BTW, this could be a real investment...James posted a couple of the eBay auctions, I've found some more today:

'Supersonic Voyager' continues to dominate eBay. Run a search for 'Virgin Atlantic' and our little Concorde friend amounts to quite a percentage of the results!

I saw one the other day go for £70!!!!!!!!!!!!

My £18 one is sitting quite confortably on my desk at home! :)

I now have two Concordes in my fleet, well Birkin has one at home and I have it's sister in my office keeping Hotlips and Cover Girl company! ;) It's fun being a bit anorak-ish occasionally. :)

I agree. Being a bit anorak-ish is fine if it means you get to have nice things decorating your desk! :)

I just received an A380 in VS livery this morning (an eBay purchase). I'm officially an anorak... but it does look rather stunning.

Thanks,

Hi Chris,

I guess e-bay is going to be your best bet, other than on a VS flight of course. ;)

Just rang up to order a Concorde and a 747-400

They have run out of "Hot Lips" 7474 but have "Pretty Woman" in stock instead.

Are the new style models that come in tins the same size as the older models - the ones with either silver or red plastic stands[?]

The reason I ask is my new smaller Virgin Concorde model does look a bit odd next to the bigger models of the 747's and the A346's

The ones I have recently bought (Supersonic Voyager, Hotlips and Cover Girl) all have the chrome-plated metal stands. Maybe they have altered the scale from the other older ones to which you refer?
