Well I have been and done it!

Folling the posts of the silly priced BA First flights from LIS, I have just booked two...... but before you all hate me - they are for the next couple of weeks and so I was unable to get Z class.

I am a geek, I grant you, I always look for a deal, as I like to feel I am "doing" the company as we all do, no doubt.

I tried to stay loyal, but even emailing a copy of the quote could not get revenue management to help and release an additional ZClass.

But here is the fun bit:

For a total of £4,406 broken down at

2 First Class Returns from LIS £1862 inlc
2 Night Accom Lis before each flight £170.50
2 Econ BA returns to LIS at £156
8 Cab fares inplace of Limo £200

I will earn Gold tier Exec Club( joined today, silver after first then gold) and enough miles for 2 North American Returns in Economy!

And just to make you really laugh (which I will try not to do on the plane when I look around) The same seat on the same plane direct from London was £6323!!!!! per flight

Now not VS I grant you but when the best price I could get from VS for just one of the trips in UC was £4468, this could really work out well

So next time someone comes up with a great way of flying with the competition please don't post it!

You have also created me more work, because I now need to search all the BA destinations every morning for the offers too...... I hope we don't meet in the lounge one day!

Cheers

bluefish

At the risk of being shot down, I can't fault you. Much as I am loyal to VS and dislike BA, I would love to sample their first class product.

When you look at normal F prices compared to UC there is normally no contest. Don't forget UC is a business class product - it has never been marketed as first class - except in various product placements:)

Have a great trip and let us know your thoughts.

Thanks Nick

I too am interested on the product, I have not flown First for about 6 years, but when I did before it was excellent!

As you say UC is a business product, but the question has to be what more can you get? So I shall be nerding all the way

Got to be done at those prices, I will joining you end of May if
mother-in-law asks junior jag to spend whit holiday with them fingers crossed.I worked out the BA TPs and even if they allow a married account I didnt think there were enough to hit gold as they zero the TPs after you hit silver so 2200 needed or is my maths up to its usual standard?
