Done it. Finally got rid of all of those pesky FC miles. Doing LHR-LAX VS007 on 8/11 and back SFO-LHR VS020 on 18/11. I know this has been a discussion point on past threads, but I was hoping for and updated view on the best suites for couples. Our LAX flight is showing as J2000 set up at present, but the SFO return is definitely UCS.

We're in 8A and K at the mo, but there're bags of free suites if we feel the need to change. Any thoughts out there?

In my opinion 8A/K are a bit too far apart for conversation. Rows 6 and 7 seemed close enough though.

We flew back from SFO in May in 9 & 10 K. I thought it was difficult to chat over the screen. I think next time we will try any of the 15 through 18 D&G suites.

I reckon that on a 747 the best palce is 1a and 1k upto 4a and 4k

The reason is they are directly opposite so you are not staggered, and you can talk across the aisle without too much difficulty, but you do save the neck twisting.

Just my view, you can always get cosy for dinner.

You never know, the removable partition as promised in SRB's letter may have arrived by then...

8 A and K are probably the furthest apart you also have the Beauty Therapist area in between too.

Def go for Upper Deck or rows 6 or 7.

B zone is also good 15 - 20 D and G.

Thanks for your input. Sorely tempted to shift to D&G suites. Are you able to have a conversation with each other in these? Also, does the light/noise from the bar become an issue?

Declan, Rows 6 and 7 are on the lower deck. These I guess would be good for a pair as they are close together, but both window seats. They are a bit short on luggage bins though.

Re seats near the bar - a mate of mine was in 17A last week and said he had the best night's sleep ever on a plane. Not sure whether the bar was busy that night as I was in 10A and didn't hear a thing. I guess 19 and 20 would be noisier.
