priority card for a massage

What is this??

Just wondering how does the massage work on the plane? Also what treatment is available?

And how many times can you use it?

Also What is the Duration?

If you request a treatments on a flight, and the IFBT does not have a chance to fulfill all requests then they will hand you a priority card. If you then hand over this card on your next journey you will get prefrence over other passengers. (So it is valid for one use.)

On a recent trip with VS I was handed a card on the outbound, and then was given my requested treatment (massage) first on the return flight.

On the plane the IFBT has their own area, in which they have a massage chair for you to sit in.

As for the treatment choices, not completely sure, but I think it is a choice of a few massages, and a hand treatment. Their length I assume varies, but I think the treatments i've had were around 10-15mins?

Can you ask for Seconds for the treatment?

I dont think so, but i could be wrong. I guess it depends on how bust the IFBT actually is. The IFBT will come around at the begining of the flight and tell you about the treatsments and write down what one you would like.

It has been mentioned on here that they may decide on the order of persons treated based on if you had a treatment in the clubhouse and/or your flying club status and fare purchased.

The IFBTs never normally get through all of the passengers - hence the card! They are also limited by Health and Safety issues to I think 10 back massages for an East Coast flight.

I had a really great neck and arm (I think) massage in-flight - just the thing after lugging heavy luggage around. I know that the hand treatment isn't a manicure as such, becuase of the restrictions on sharp implements in flight.

The hand treatment is a gentle exfoliation followed by an application of moisturiser, wrapping in cling film/saran wrap (for our US visitors ) then foil and leaving to soak in. Then a removal. My favourite since they stopped doing manicures... [:I]

Not unless this is a new rule.
The only discrimination I am aware of is in the Clubhouse where only UC pax and gold card holders are entitled to COMPLIMENTARY beauty treatments. i.e. people who are there having paid through VH apparently have to fork out extra for a haircut etc.

I thought the only treatment you could get at your suite was the hands treatment ( all others being done at the massage pod)

One point of clarification. If, on a night flight, you tell the IFBT NOT to wake you up for your treatment, you will not be entitled to a priority card when you land. I got caught by this (but to be honest it's a sensible rule).
