I think you can book at LGW but not LHR.

Hi,

You can only prebook treatments at the LGW salon.

LHR is first come first served ( desk at the far end of the reception desk as you enter the clubhouse).

As you can tell this is my first time in UC and the Clubhouse - so apart from being so excited I think I'm going to burst (how sad is that?:D) I want to enjoy everything about the experience. The trip is a special surprise for our Son's 21st so he's in for a real treat! We are flying out to LA on the 1500hrs flight - can we still check in say at 11.30am?? We're staying at LHR overnight and so have to vacate by 11am, so thought we could go straight across and check-in. Will that be in order? or because the 12noon flight hasn't left will we not be allowed into the Clubhouse until a certain time? [:I]

Hi annemarg,

I do not see any problems about checking in at 1130 for the 1500 flight. The 1200 LAX will have closed for check in but this will not affect you.

I think the breakfast stuff is cleared away at 11-1130am then it is the lunch menu that is served.

Fine to check in that early: I've checked in a couple of times for the later flight before the early one has left. Both times I was early enough to be offered a seat on the VS7 but declined in favour of more time in the Clubhouse.

Blackcat, how early did you check in to be offered a seat on VS7? Didn't realise that could happen!! Have you been on VS23?? If you have was it good?? :D

I think it was around 11:40. Hand baggage only, travelling Upper Class, on my own, I guess unlikely to happen in other circumstances. I've flown the LHR-LAX route lots. The VS23 is usually less crowded than the VS7 but has the disadvantage (at least in Upper Class) of being an A340-300 rather than a 747-400.

Yes I know its an airbus, but are the seats good and does it have a bar onboard?;)

Hi annemarg,

As the VS 23 is a A340-300 ( not the -600) it will not have the suites fitted yet ( probably will not be done until after the -600 if at all) so yuo will have the J2000 seats -still good in my opinion.

Yes, there will be bar ( smaller) in the middle of the cabin at row 4/5 and the beauty therapist.

J2000 and a glass or two of champagne will be fine with me....I'm used to turning right when I enter an aircraft.;)
