companion ticket

Hi
after excessive spending on my virgin credit card i now have a companion ticket!

i wondered what was the most effective use of the ticket?

i was thinking the best thing to do was to book a premium fare as i believed virgin do offer the ability to use the ticket on one class of discounted fare - if so, could someone let me know which one?

I assume, sadly, upper class is a pure J class or shut up kind of deal?

I personally have a real issue with the companion ticket for use in premium classes as i don't see much upside when comparing with miles plus money or a discounted K class for example.

My usage of the Companion ticket will be for PE only.

I don think that J fares are economical, as you say, you can find two Z fares cheaper, so by buying PE fares you really will make a saving. At the end of the day, you can use it for a nice cheap 4/5 night break somewhere in PE, East Coast is always appealing to me
