I do have a PPL and I work for an airline, so I thought it would be very interesting, and it was. Years ago, I had a video of the VS005 on the 747-200, but I lost it. [:(]
Anyway, I thought Id replace it with this DVD which happend to be an aircraft Ive, and Im sure many of us have been on. I put it on at work today and the amount of people who pulled up a chair was suprising, and they all confessed they had several similar DVD's.

Anyham, its certainly very interesting to see what going on upstairs ( no not in PE) when you're sipping you chauteu savignon blanc '68 and munching bangers and mash.

Hi SBA,

It's also available direct through the production company, here.

I have it - (I actually had to 'upgrade' to the DVD from my original VHS version!) It's a great insight into what goes on behind the scenes. (would be nice to have it as a feature on v:port someday [;)])

And for those 'die hard fans' out there, the 747-200 video/dvd is also available. As SBA mentioned, it should be the VS005.

I think it's the same one as what was on the VHS - when I changed my VHS for the DVD and it was literally identical.

Good DVD though [y]

I confess[:I]. ONly joking, you're not a geek, I've got the VS005/6 DVD on G-VOYG. It's a good DVD, very informative and educational, even shows you a brief clip of the old IFE in use. Those screens were tiny back then!!

I'll probably get the VS019 DVD soon. Can anyone else recommend/know of any other DVD's featuring VS?

Cheers!

Hi I'll be a saddo at the other end of technology & let you know that I have a BOAC 45 record! Anyone know what I can do with it? Clean suggestions only! x

Actually, yes, there's something you can do with it. [}:)] Just kidding... No, really, this is a squeaky-clean answer!

I believe this falls under 'make a copy for your own personal use,' so here's how to get a non-vinyl version to use.

Find a player which includes a tape deck with a record feature. (Have a nice time hunting one up.) Record a tape of the 45. You need to use a very high-quality tape, and make sure the 45 is as clean as you can get it - each dust mote will hiss itself onto the finished tape.

Buy or use a copy of Musicmatch (6 and up; I use 6, don't need the foo-foo in 10) to get the line-in or mic-in Recording feature. You'll need a patch cable to connect from your Walkman or other tape player to the line-in or mic port. Record off the tape. You'll get a bit of hiss, but it's better than lugging the 45 player about when you want to impress someone with your airline memorabilia!

This will burn in mp3 mode, good on just about anything, and no demonic DRM to worry about. BTW, this method works on old cassettes which were never released onto CD. You can even record sound from a VHS tape or...

Good luck!

Does anyone have a copy of this on DVD they'd be willing to sell? Really want to watch it but not keen on the 20 odd quid for a new one!

Honestly Andy pay the money, it is a very well done documentary and well worth the 20 quid, every now and again one will come up on Ebay.

Thanks

I've ordered one off Ebay £19.10 inc postage for a new one, quite happy with that.
