Richard,
I just looked at the offer and TPs/Miles on some routes are confusing!

quote:
7. Flying club miles cannot be earned for Hong Kong, Sydney, Shanghai, New York, Boston, Washington (selected dates) Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas (selected dates) sale fares.

I guess theres no way of booking online and knowing what selected dates earn miles etc!!?

Yes it is a bit confusing for the general public, best thing you cna do is use the tool online and when you get to step 3 of the bookign process (where it displays the price and breakdown), there will be a section underneath that tells you how many miles you will earn or more likely:

'Please note that this fare does not qualify to earn flying club miles.'

Thanks,
Richard

Surely flying club would find the miles earning fares for you if you called up and asked?

Or if you're dates driven, they can find you the lowest miles earning fare (which may not be that much more expensive than the sale fare).

Yep they did that for my forthcoming trip to LAS - it was a big dilema whether to pay the extra 100 quid or not, eventually I went for it as it got me 10,000 miles, tps, and extra flexibility.

I did the same with a US originating return between EWR and LHR. It only cost me £35 more, so was a complete no brainer.
