Sorry for the delay in writing this return trip report; it has been a very hectic summer and things are only just calming down.

We arrived in Orlando, having had a very nice flight (trip report completed ages ago). I managed to get an infection in my face, which started the morning after we arrived and necessitated going to hospital the next day. Had a small incision and the wound was packed for two days.nice! I was given enough antibiotics to stun an elephant and spent my entire holiday feeling unwell, on the plus side I managed to catch up on my sleep, the down being no swimming or theme parks!!

We had an easy check-in at Orlando, and toddled off to the lounge. We took our usual seats in that conservatory bit because I like to watch the planes taking off and landing. My attention was diverted somewhat by another table in that area. There were two couples, obviously unknown to each other, one half of this equation was telling the other how they always flew Upper Class, buying a property in Orlando, fly there six times a year, always stay in properties worth $1 million and want to buy, always fly Upper Class, fly there six times a year; you get my drift, to a rather stunned other half of the equation. I did the usual lets read the book but not turn the pages. Thankfully we were on the later flight.

Did the usual plane watching, then got ants in my pants so walked along to the departure gates to see what aircraft we would be on; sorry forgotten now, but it was really important at the time!! I went back to the lounge, irritated my Husband, then time for boarding.

Nice easy boarding, took our seats and was given drinks, suits etc. A family of four boarded, with two girls of about 5 and 3. There was a little change of seating so that Mum and Dad to keep an eye on them. The eldest was in front of me and she was lovely. I was personally thrilled because I always get to sit next to the snorer on return flights, resulting in no sleep and murderous thoughts; so to have a little girl one side and a lady the other meant I had the best sleep in ages.

The flight was good, cabin crew excellent, food nice and served promptly. Had a problem with my headphone socket, which could not be resolved but it worked if you wiggled the plug a bit so no problems there. The felt surround had moved out of position, so Cabin Crew noted it. Filled in the questionnaire Cabin Crew gave me. I ticked everything as excellent apart from the amenity kit. As I said before had a good sleep with no snorers!!

Arrived at Gatwick in good time; did the Iris thing and was through before I could blink. Everyone was looking at us in the passport queue, wondering what we were doing. The Iris thing is brilliant, it meant that we were straight through and had to wait for our luggage.

Arrived home, had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. I had an all over (but not face?!?) rash. I spent the next four days in a Piriton induced haze, but the rash had reduced significantly enough for me to look presentable for my next wedding. In my job it is not a good look!!

Great to hear of a good LGW UC experience! I knew that they must exist - after all it's the same crew who do LHR! Had to double take on the wedding comment then remembered you're a photographer!

I've made myself look like a bigamist with a wierd rash!! We are off to Boston and Washington soon, I am really excited about the LHR clubhouse as I have not been in it since the re-launch. I was hoping for a plane with V-port but looking at the seat booking thing I think this may be unlikely.

I have just been thinking about my return flights to LGW over the years, and as mentioned earlier it is usually my luck to be next to the snorer, coupled with the fact I am a light sleeper. There have been many times when I have been unable to sleep, and I hate lying in the dark and awake. The cabin crew have always been nice and I have spent many a flight sitting with them in the galley having a nice chat and a cup of tea, whilst the rest of the flight enjoys its slumbers.
