The cocktail tables have actually been removed by engineering on some seats as the angle of them meant that the drinks were nearly sliding off.

When the aircraft get suites fitted the tables were designed to be at a small angle as the aircraft always flies with a 3 degree angle in flight.

On some tables the angle was poor.

The tables have been removed on the affected tables and and will be replaced when the aircraft has a few days rest from there busy life.

In the mean time if you extend your tv, you will find a nice little shelf behind it where you place ur drink.

Lots of modifications taking place because of valuble passenger feedback.

drinks flying all over you comes to mind also snapping and really leaning tables that the drinks just slide off, maybe if the table was straight and had a less shiny surfave rubber based to stop slipping would be a good idea!

Pretty much all of them on G-VROC and G-VWOW.

This "shelf" is just about big enough for a champagne glass. It is not big enough for a bigger glass, and doesn't really suit the bowl of pretzels/olives/nuts either. Oh, and maybe I don't want to extend my TV when I'm having a drink... particularly if I'm on an Odyssey-equipped plane.

And, we presume, their dry cleaning bills! :D

The cocktail table is clearly a poor design, badly implemented. It's just rather strange that both this and the notorious reading light slipped through testing.

Well there were a few gold cards and top 50 flyers who helped design the suite and gave there input.

On our recent return from LAX Mustang Sally had been stripped of most of the cocktail tables. My FA and sunsequently myself used the shelf beind the seat, it was not too much of an inconvenience (when the seat was in the seat postion).

The TV would not latch closed neither would the control panel (where the handset sits). Many people had problems erecting and/or stowing the large table.

On Tubular Belle (outbound) the white laminate finish around the TV was chipped and partly broken off.

Both aircraft had a lot of damage to the ottomans and on Mustang Sally I noticed quite severe damage around the top edge of the back of the ottoman.

It appears that the product, whilst I think it is excellent in concept, has not been designed to be durable enough for the hard work it is expected to perform.

Likewise on G-VROC and G-VWOW. And by the way the seat won't convert if the screen or table are not latched properly. My table latch was a bit iffy on G-VWOW which flummoxed me a little when trying to convert the bed.

Agreed. The ottomans are really wearing very badly in particular.

Having just been on G-VWOW as Declan says most of the cocktail trays have been removed but the ottomans did appear to be in a good condition with not much scuffing present at the moment. I too placed my drink on the metal grill next to the wall but then thought hang on a minute I dread to think what would happen if I had spilt my drink down that grill [:0]

Compared to G-VTOP I was on a few months ago, the large table was very easy to put up and I did not even need to stand up to do this. All the seats did seem convert to beds very easily also.

The tables on G-VATL were also quite stiff still so I guess with with more use they do become less stiff and easier to put up. All cocktails trays did seem to be present on G-VATL too.

Rest assured...things are being done about the wear and tear of the UCS!!

The wear problems have not gone un-noticed!

I'm sure VS are aware of the shortcomings, however it must be annoying that major maintenance is required so soon after installation? I'm not talking about things breaking and/or needing mods but more the general lack of robustness which is making the product look shoddy, not good!

My cocktail table was a bit too precariously angled to put a drink on. Mine sat very hapily on the shelf that is created when the TV is out.
