Virgin Logbooks

Here's an idea for all us flying nerds, based on the British Airways 'log book' (which gives children the chance to get a signature from the Captain certifying their flight)

Why dont we have them for VS!!!!

You can buy these books for £1 from BA, now just think if Vs had a similar scheme for all us regular flyers? We could sign off all the planes in the fleet as we fly on them!

(am i being sad? Please tell me that someone else out there likes this idea) LOL

no, I( fully agree. I have spoken to the Flying Club about the exact same thing, but the response was muted. My two year old has already flown almost 20,000 miles with VS and I have had to start logging his miles on an Excel spreadsheet, as it will be many years before he is eligable for miles
If VS did a logbook, it would spur the children who go to Florida say, every year or two to push their parents into booking VS flights

Hmmm.... well if Virgin don't want to do it, maybe I could knock up a V-Flyer Logbook, with some reference pages in it like seatmaps, entertainment systems, etc, in the back.

Go Pix! If you can print them in colour, small size, sell them for a few quid, i'll take a couple off your hands!

If the seatmaps, IFE info and other details are included then at least they will be a small user guide to VA for the less nerdy of us. I often like to check out some of the information about the plane i am flying on, i usually ask the FA's inflight, but having access to V Flyer would be ideal - roll on internet access onboard!

My apologies for even thinking of the suggestion - I just thought it might be nice for those amongst who might like to strike up a conversation with the flight crew on occasion:D

As I invariably travel with Mrs Buns, I would of course not have any need for using it!!

Oh no,
But its a way to keep a total record of his travelling miles before any "official" record with VS can be started (BA of course with their book we could have started straight away)
It does come back to the fact that if I pay a full fare for him, he should be able to accrue miles. Ageism?? :D:D:D

id love to sign up for 2 , yes they are for my kids well i could really help the 18 month old fill his is could i and i would be like doing one for my self but then i wouldnt feel silly !!!!

Just picked up on this thread and was wondering if anything came of it. I'd certainly take 1 or 2 off your hands.

I had a logbook with BOAC and then BA in the early 70s and even recieved a certificate when I reached 25,000 and 50,000 miles (hee hee - I do that in 6 months now).

Just a couple of stumbling blocks at the mo; time & money. It'd be quite a design task, and given the low printing volumes they'd probably be quite expensive. I did talk to Bazz about them at the beginning of Summer, but the lack of time has stopped me really chasing this up.

I think that they are a great idea, and would certianly buy some.

Being a confirmed anorak I have kept records of all of my flights, including aircraft flown, so logging the details in a proper record book wouldn't be a problem.

As there might be some legal issues with the Virgin Branding of an "unnoficial" log book, would it not be better to look at a V-Flyer Log book?
That could then cover other flights as well.

I actually had one of these and I think it is lodged in a cupboard at my mothers.
It was landscape and about 18cm by 10cm

I like AlanA's idea of the v-flyer log book to overcome the legal issues.
One side-effect is that it get's the website free advertising everytime it gets to the front of the plane.

i do agree with you and was def thinking of making it more V-flyer than VAA any how - also have a contact in the printing industry so may be able to pull a deal - will make it my project and let you know how i get on - thnx eveyone for their links etc.
