.... can't remember what channel this is on but the basic premise is that five people host dinner parties on consecutive nights and they are judged by their peers at the end of the week. The episodes are shown back to back on a Sunday during the time I spend three to four hours cooking things to freeze/chill for reheating during the working week - and that's the time when, in the words of the song, there's 57 channels and nothing on[:(]

This weeks joint winner was instantly recognisable from two of my U/C flights - Sam (full name given in programme). This wasn't a great week in terms of culinary excellence, but it did leave me thinking maybe Sam should be put in charge of the U/C menu[}:)]

Pat - we love this programme (it's on More 4), best way to spend late afternoon on a Sunday. This week's lot were pretty rubbish I thought, compared to some of the previous weeks, what was the Aussie guy doing? You get some good ideas and tips from it too.

A few good plugs for Virgin throughout the show this week and I thought Sam was probably the best overall, even if she did cheat with the starters!

You're not kidding - amongst other things smoked salmon on ritz crackers, anyone? She got away with it by paying real attention to how things looked on the plate, plus serving champagne with the canapes[^]. And I really, really, don't know what the Aussie guy was up to - but Skippy was well overdone!

IIRC all new episodes are aired on Channel 4 in the afternoons Monday-Friday, not sure whether it's just repeats or new episodes shown on More 4.

At the minute what's keeping me on Channel 4 is the new series of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.

Afternoons on Channel 4! Spot the student amongst us.....[ii]. People who live in the real world don't get to watch Channel 4 in the afternoon due to a tiny little thing called work (unless your name is LSoM, who WFH a lot and no doubt spends all day watching Jeremy Kyle and Trisha[:w])

I dont watch any daytime TV when i am WFH i'll have you know! YouTube have far more exciting and educational pursuits. You are just jealous that i get to WFH in a VS sleepsuit when you have to do battle with the local Hull residents on your way to the office [:D]

Just finished watching Gordon on Channel 4 though, which was brilliant as ever [y]

Thanks,
Sarah

I love come dine with me,I wish they would repeat the one where the old ruff bird drunk as a skunk serves a sweet of ice cream mixed with crushed Maltesers and napped with rasberry coulŽe(the coulŽe she explains is made with boiling water and jam)The funnest bit of tele for a long time.As for Ramsay what did we get, 2 new episodes then bloody repeats with a 2 minute update at the end[V]

I think it's good that Ramsay does revisit a few of his previous restaurants to see whether he's made a difference or he's wasted his time...which applies to just about every single restaurant he's revisited! Some people...
