Hi Guys

Just found an interesting deal, all helps with Tier and Flying Club points.

I have an Airmiles account and never know what to spend the miles on,

Well for 3328 Airmiles I have just booked a return to JFK on VA in November. - Wow you say but

Air Miles run at 9p on Ebay so even if you wanted to buy some, or to tpo up any existing balances you have;
it works out great value for money, very close to the "Sales Fares" but the Airmiles tickets are booked in Q unlike the sales fares which are a bit hit or miss, so miles plus Tier points here I come.

I know not the best deal in the world, but if you have the airmiles kicking around, a seemingly very good value way of using them.

Tescos for petrol here I come

Cheers

Interesting, I had always dismissed Airmiles, as they meant BA to me [:o)]

Can you use them for all airlines now?

I know that, unlike FC points, there is still a huge trade in them on EBay.

They have closed one loophole, a mate of mine used to advertise in the local papers and buy the old Sainsburys vouchers that you could use for shopping or air miles. Sainsburys going to Nectar has killed that little trade off :)

Yes it does now look like you can spend airmiles on any airline. I've just had a look at my account online (which I too never use).

I've just done a quick flight search for LHR-JFK and ther's only VS flights showing (fare class is showing as been BAMXL)

Looks like you can pay in various ways now with money or airmiles or both:

£395 with no miles (but actally earn 79 miles)
£356 + 880 miles
£246 + 2750 miles
6710 miles

To be fair the best way to use them at the moment would actually be on United, and use your BMI card as it is double miles till December.

I search most days, but I have yet to find a pattern, often they offer no milage purchase options, but if you keep looking they do pop up.

Also might be worth noting, you can now earn airmiles recycling printer carts with tesco, you just need to ask at customer services for the envelopes

Or from around £200 (earing 7,000 VS miles and 4 tier points) direct with VS, thanks to the current sale..

Hi

I work for a bank that also has a tie in with Airmiles so know a bit about it...they 're-launched' a good few months back now as a travel agency/booking service, branching out from BA only to a number of other airlines including VA.

You can get some really good deals looking at the website, and earn miles on your spend too, according to the offer you choose - you can even use your miles to upgrade to PE or UC depending if you have enough miles, or use miles/cash.

I shop at Tesco's too!!
