Think RM posted on this a while back, but I can't find the booking.

I know the salon girls have said they will have a new facility that is twice the size, but that is all I know.

IIRC the footprint will be well over double the current size, but with all the extra passengers on all the new routes it will need to be.

I only have one wish - air conditioning that can be serviced without the tempreature getting into the 40's

The aircon in the conservatory seems to be on a seperate system, as that section was seriously cool the last couple of times I was there! ;)

Any dates on when the new clubhouse will open?

The plan is that the new lounge will open in about April, when the existing lounge will close and be re-modelled. The 2 lounges will then be knocked into one, making a very large, brilliant facility.

Good one, onionz.:D

For me the Clubhouse was an absolute oasis but yes, a bit crowded with both VS3 and VS7 pax taking up many seats. The new facility sounds tremendous.

Will the new Clubhouse be VS-staffed or did they end up contracting some or all of the staff?

Regards,
Chuck-

Yes always cool up there but never fancy drinking my usual quota of champagne then trying to negotiate that stair case[:0][B)][:0]:D

In comparison the Washington Dulles Clubhouse was exactly what I had hoped for - roomy, relaxing, and staffed efficiently with folks with happy smiling faces.

This was my first time to Dulles, and as I had time to spare I took the opportunity to use my BA gold card travel over to terminal D and check out the BA First and Exec Club lounges. Yuck. Very clostrophoic, dark and uninviting. I rushed striaght back to terminal B to the Clubhouse.

Having passed through the Clubhouse on Friday, the ajoining area is just bare at present with no work, or even sign of work, being undertaken.

Some ragged edges showing today - first gents' loo cubicle is a real mess. (And it was before I want in there[:(!])

That's the one where some of the chrome trim is rusting, and the finish on the walls is somehow de-laminating, right?

I was shocked by how nasty it looked when I used the loo in there a while ago.

I know that a shiny new facility is being built, but that's not really an excuse to let the old Clubhouse go downhill in the meantime, within reason (i.e. as long as the maintenance doesn't cost too much!).

Cheers,
Mike

That's sad to hear. I haven't been into the lounge yet (but 8 weeks today....:))

The thing is, I have this image in my head and I don't want to be disappointed with the experience (Not that I'm planning to use the gents loos) I just want it to be wonderful. Am I hoping for too much?

It sounds like its going to be busy and scruffy....[:0]

Hi Daisy,

Don't worry, as Jaguarpig says it is still one of the best facilities you are likely to encounter and you will enjoy the experience! [8D]
