Just to add to this topic.

There is a large thread on a.net about the future of the MAXjet fleet. Apparently reliability with the 762 was a major problem for MAXJet as the a/c were very old (much older than Silverjet's fleet).

It seems that Zoom are being mentioned a lot as being interested in the planes- obviously they would go through a refit into a two class set up.

Silverjet are avoiding them as apparently they have an agreement with TOM for all five of theirs and they are wanting to get good quality a/c.

I think that's £2k down the drain for me. Booked with my company chargecard which won't be covered under the 1974 Consumer Credit Act,

If your card has a visa symbol on it then visa credit card rules apply. The consensus appears to be that if you used a debit card to book flights direct on Maxjet`s website you had lost your money as it was classed as a cash transaction. I paid with a debit card for my flights but it has a visa symbol on it. I contacted my banks debit card dispute department with proof of flight purchase and proof of Maxjet`s demise and got my full payment back within 5 days.
My covering letter stated ' that since my debit card has a visa symbol it is covered by visa credit card rules'. Don`t say, I believe or is it true that....
Banks seem to try to keep this fact to themselves as I discovered when I first spoke to my local branch who said that I was not covered with a debit card. Please note that this is a UK bank.
