As those bastards over at AT&T and Apple have decided not to allow me to put my $300 discount towards an I-Phone, I have decided that they can shove it, whilst I love the interface, using the phone for what I do, texts, pictures, web surfing and heaven forbid...making a call I have narrowed my list to these phones.

The Blackjack
The Blackjack II
BlackBerry 8800

Any thoughts or others I should think of looking at...

As you can tell, bang for the buck works for me, when I was looking at the I-Phone $100 for the 8gig version was a no brainer..but $400, sorry not for me.

You've listed 3 phones which are email centric which is not one of your requirements! Bizarre! Personally, I wouldn't have any of them. I'd still go for the iphone. I miss mine (sold it for huge profit on ebay) and will probably pay for the extra and get one from france. nothing touches it for surfing the web, emails, videos on the move etc

Any time limit on your Apple credit? Could do with a new laptop :-)

8800 but it does not have a camera IIRC. I have the 8830.

(Would switch to Verizon too :) )

I can't do Verizon, they have zero service around my house.

After 5 reboots on the old phone in 1 night I had had enough, so following all the advice and the fact that AT&T would not give me any discount on an I-Phone [:#] I went into the store to pick up a Blackberry Pearl....and left with a Samsung Blackjack II

Why the change of heart....bigger screen is all.

After one day of living with it..I love the damn thing, having a QWERTY keyboard is a big change from doing text via a number pad, but something I am learning quickly.

There are two downsides so far is the battery life, but hell I am playing with it, I had everything turned on and it still made it 11 hours [y]

The other downside of course is that Mrs Scrooge had to play with it while we went shopping today...now she wants one [B)]

Ouch. SHould have asked at the time, you might have got BOGOF deal. 11 hours use with everything running is actualy pretty good for a new battery. Nothing like a good Boys Toy eh?

Scrooge, you know I'll be of no help as my tech knowledge is zilch, zip, zero. FWIW, however, I have an older Blackberry and would love the 8800.
