Any hints as to the changes from the old one??:D

Hmmm, so the old ones could become collectors items!

Are the LGW flights going to get the remnants of the old kits, like the grey UC PJ's? (Grumble, grumble, mutter, mutter) :D:D

Jonathan,
its my understanding from comments on this forum, that even after the UCS roll out, LGW will continue to use the grey sleepy suits until they are all used up.

Well, that being the case I think VS are wrong to do this as they are effectively selling their J service short.
Whats the point in offering the UCS rollout at all if they keep diluting it?

I actually prefer the old grey Sleepsuits to the new ones!

Another Amenity kit change! Hands up those who remember the push around Space:NK - I think I must have the last 4 generations of kits now at home!

Thanks,
Richard

There are giving out the new sleep suits on the LGW flights, as I got the new style when returning from Orlando last month. There was a stage recently where the black socks in the amenity kits were turning everyones feet black from the dye! So I hope they do test runs on the new kit

Already salivating at the thought...;):D

I hope they don't "enhance" the amenity kit in the "remove items to save money" sense.

I hope they bring back "proper" metal VS pens - those plastic ones just don't cut the mustard!

I like the old 'grey' sleeper suits too. Have used a new black one but they always turn the heating up far too hot on those night flights...but that's for another thread!

Why did the Space: NK kits go....they were not around for long were they?

I hope the new UCS amenity kits are not as 'girlie' as the current ones. I liked the old style ones which I still use and carry with me on flights. I do hope the Polo's will be staying though.

What do I hope will be staying in my amenity kit:
Polo Mints - they are so welcome when you get an attack of dog-breath midflightThe useful Virgin Vie pump dispensers of moisturiser things - the foot rub is great.Tissues rather than the fabric hanky given out with that cack SpaceNK stuff which was no use on the aircraft at all.Ear plugs, decent eyeshades, real (i.e. well-known brand) toothpasteSome sort of pen
I'm flying out to SFO on the 30th Oct and back on 6th Nov, maybe I'll pack an old amenity kit in my carry on, just in case what we get is a load of old marketing tosh... ;)

The current kit is quite nice, in the sense that there is no external branding. It's quite simple and minimalist, yet full of useful stuff.

Cheers!
Mike

The Amenity Kit cases are also extremely useful, one I use for my electric razor, lead, US/European adaptors, etc., etc. Much better than the Braun case that came with the razor. Another I use for my cell phone and camera chargers and leads, because you can zip them fully closed you can ensure you keep everything together.

We still have several unopened ones too! ;)

Do they come in any other colours, I have only ever had Purple or Black?

the ones I like the most are the Continental ones, I'll take a picture of one we have.

Yes

I've got a red one and a cream coloured one too (the red one was a Space:K one though). I prefer the black ones myself.

The old syle small brown ones (the ones with the velcro opener with the VS logo on them) makes a great digi-cam cover :)

Ditto

I have a couple of hard cased black UC kits from about 6 years ago and the collection of metal key rings they were a good little reminder of a flight plus the stubby metal pens.

I prefer the grey and purple suits before they messed around with the sizes... the black ones make me look like a threatening scarecrow and the old grey ones were always far too short.

I agree about the keyrings... I still have a collection to go with my collection of "useful" UC kit cases that sit in the wardrobe doing nothing. At least I am still using the keyrings.

PS. Yes, I do realise I have a baboon-like physique :)

Declan,
Now that you have our orders, please pass along to SRB. Seriously, I echo comments made by the others regarding the items in the kit that we do like very much, especially the eye shades, good pen, moisturizers (I use my eye lift all the time![B)]) and Polo mints.

Thanks. Regards, Chuck-
