Ok so this is going to sound like a really dumb question, in planning mode for later this years vacation, want to fly from Heathrow to sample clubhouse. decided to opt for staying overnight at Paddington Hilton and then get Heathrow Expressb ( thanks Speedway from The Dibb for the suggestion ).

My question is do the trains operate normally on Boxing day for our trip from Harrogate to Paddington? If i end up having to drive down south I may as well use a Heathrow Hotel.

In a word no [:(!] There is normally no service on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

That said I'm sure that the only one that runs is the Bedord Gatwick service.

Can't see why not, and hotels at LHR are much better and cheaper than LGW.

I stayed in the wonderful Holiday Inn at Heathrow last Christmas for £44 a night whilst working in town.

If you wish to place your faith in thisstatement from the CEO of Network Rail, trains might be running this coming Christmas.

On the other hand, a nice airport hotel might be more appealing

I'd plump for a nice local hotel that is, if needed, walking distance from the terminal. I wouldn't want to trust my trip to the hit and miss affair of Network Rail.

The other option is Padd - Earls Court - T3 on the Piccadilly line. Assuming they run any services.
