Fox News are following a story of an American airlines flight returning to Miami airport with nose gear problems. They have a camera at the airport.

Note - MOVED by mods into forum for 'other airlines' as this does not relate directly to Virgin Atlantic.

There were two plan crashes this morning (and sure there are more that I do not know about). Oh they were not airliners so it does not matter....

I am sick of the hype that is give to airliner having issues. No one really could give a fig if a bus crashes and kills 40 people but if someone breaks a nail on an airliner, front page story.

Thankfully the AA flight has landed safely at Miami. Sky news were carrying this live. This was showing on the big screen in the CH ... hope none of us watching were nervous flyers!!

Well, our local news staion yesterday was full of discussion about two busses that hit each other in Walsall bus station, and the week before our local newspaper was telling the story of two busses hitting each other in Broadgate Coventry, so I suppose they do give a fig.

the fact that 130 people plus crew are possibly in danger is big news regardless of which type of transport is involved. I dont think any train crash has had so many deaths and injuries, but these alsong with multiple pile ups on the motorways also get lots of coverage.

Showing it in the CH? Isn't that a bit like putting an Airport film on V-port?

Stu - There is a STARK difference between disagreeing with someone's point of view and launching a personal attack. Such attacks are not welcome here, please find somewhere else to post.

Stu,

While you quite clearly disagree with Ben's post - There is no need to be as agressive in your reply.

Insults aren't needed and don't help discussion, everyone is entitled to their opinion in a free and constructive manner.
