The BOS to LHR (and the other way around) flight always seems to be absolutely packed every time I fly it (all 2 occasions!) and is the same for other 2 airlines flying the same route.

I find it unusual that in this forum it's practically never talked about especially in the most obvious place which is the trip reports section.

I was wondering if the route is more holiday makers rather than business users and how many people here actually fly the route.

James,
A few people regularly fly to BOS in this forum!

I have only once, but know that Nottingham Nick and Decker are familular with this route..

Boston is a great place with a relitavely short flying time! some say too short to fully appriciate UC!:D

Up until November last year (when I left my last employer), I was flying out to Boston about once every 2 months since the head office was based just outside of the city.

Great place, especially during autumn when the trees are just changing colour.

Did you go to the Bull and Finch?

Bull and Finch? Where is that? I actually live in Boston so it would be good to go to a recommended place? (I imagine it's a pub or bar?)

Must admit Boston is excellent at this time of year. I work about 30mins west of Boston in the heart of the countryside so I have a great drive to work.

Boston is also in a frenzy at the moment as they've drawn level 3-3 with the NY Yankess in the playoffs after being 3-0 down :D

Overnighting at BOS a week Saturday - any decent eateries within a fair cab ride? Being lazy - could ask Amex but.... ;)

The Bull & Finch? I assume you mean the Cheers bar? Went in once, but it was a bit of a tourist hole rather than a decent pub.

Decker - head up to North End for a very fine selection of Italian restaurants, although if you're in town on a Saturday night call Amex Concierge to get you a table. It gets *very* busy.

Apparently it was a decent pub before it became a tourist hole!!

Boston is much less touristy than other east coast cities and very close to the Cape which has nice beaches etc..

I was at a wedding there a few years back and met Ted Kennedy

Hmm... the orignial Cheers bar, never thought to look! There is a tourist trap right in Quincy Market but we've avoided that as it's SO expensive for total crap.

One of the best places I've eaten in Boston so far is the Charthouse right by the aquarium.

There are literally thousands of places to eat, I must admit I favour Cambridge more than Boston but as it's only a hop over any of the bridges you can get there easily in a cab.

Pix... just read your post... I agree, the North End is really really nice and some great restaurants.

Dunkin' Donuts just tried to put a shop up in Hanover Street and the residents went nuts as it wouldn't fit in with the quality of food the rest of the area has to offer.

Cheers will meet with my MA buddy on Friday night this side of pond and if he has no suggestions will have Amex research...
