There is a discussion on Airliners.net regarding charges. OK so it turns into a rant about rip-offs but the first post contains a useful at a glance look at charges made by UK airlines. link
OMG - £8 added to my booking made last night with a VS Amex [}:)]
That is an absolute rip off [V]
I was seriously tempted to use a Debit Card and lose the miles [}:)]

I booked a one-way ticket from HKG-LHR on the VS website this morning and I wasn't charged any credit card fee.
Sorry to drag an old thread up but it's been 6 months and I haven't noticed an update on this - and yet again I've been 'ripped-off' (whilst pocketing the miles). I remembered again having noticed the bmi cc advert on V-Flyer linking you to a page that proclaims
No booking fee when you use your bmi credit card to buy bmi flights online at flybmi.com or via the bmi call centre
Is it a rip-off though? It's not as if they are making an uplift on this, they are merely passing on some of the cost of the transaction on.
Yes it is a rip-off.
If BA and BMI can both offer a credit card with no cc fees for booking thier own flights, there's no reason at all why VS can't as well.
It's just greed on the part of VS.
It makes things ten times worse when VS just fob you off and make pathetic excuses by blaiming MBNA.
