Aided by comments/advice from other V-flyers I'm pleased to report that the hotels I'd secured on Priceline were all excellent. No mention was made of me having booked with Priceline at any of the hotels.Hilton Garden Inn (Plymouth) gave us a lovely two king bedded room, the Sheraton Four Points (Cape Cod) gave us run of the house and gave me keycards to look at 3 different rooms (opted for a two king bedded room not overlooking the indoor pool).
I'd been worried that the Sheraton in Boston would give us the box room (it was St Patrick's day weekend and the hotel was heaving).My fears were unfounded-they gave us a massive corner room on the 25th floor (with amazing views out over the river) with kitchen area,work area and superking bed because of my SPG Au status.They also offered me a further upgrade to the exec floors for an extra $40 a night ( but the receptionist said it was a much smaller room without any water views).After a bit of deliberation we opted to keep the room we were offered and wern't disappointed. Them honouring the AU late check out was a major bonus too![:D]. I'll have no qualms on using Priceline again- with judicious bidding (ie using highest star rating available) there are some excellent bargains to be had.All rooms incidentally were non-smoking as requested.Beginners luck perhaps but very pleased none the less[:D]
