I'm sure the answer is no but I have been told that departing First Class passengers with SQ can access the LHR CH, regardless of FF status? Can anyone give a definitive answer?

Absolutely yes.

In fact, pretty much all of the SQ 'regulars' Pete and I met rank the Virgin Clubhouse as the best 'Singapore Airlines Lounge', worldwide.

Ironic. [}:)][:w]

Woo-hoo!

As others have said, it's a definite yes. The SKL F lounge at LHR is really rather boring: the only reason you'd use it over the CH is when the CH occasionally becomes too crowded. Otherwise, get your trunks on and hit the hot tub.

Presumably one just bowls up to CH reception armed with SQ F boading pass? Or is some kind of 'invitation' required?

Yes, that's right. Although a Suites boarding card commands more Oooohs than an F boarding card.

On a similar note, what about business class passengers departing LHR on SQ?
I spoke to the FF helpline today and got a very confused message, after she checked with someone more senior. The answer was 'maybe possible'!
