Haven't seen the rooms (since I live here), I've met colleagues there ... looks nice. Very pleasant internal courtyard-like space, and all that. The location is good, right behind MOMA, close to Thirsty Bear

I'd always recommend being in the 'flatter' areas of the city center if you're going to stay in SF Financial/Union Square area - easy walks to the Ferry Building and the bay on a weekend, without the crazyness of Fisherman's Wharf. The foyer space at the Palace feels much nicer than the likes of St Francis, which can be a little claustrophobic. I don't think it will feel like a bad place, and if the deals are particularly good it will be worth it over Priceline.
