Hi all,

Does anyone happen to know what model of the Audi A4 convertible that Hertz rent out at LAX?

I've tried a google search but I'm not getting back any certain answer. A few places seem to suggest the S4 4.2 V8? Now that would be good [8D]

Can't find any phone number or email add for Hertz LAX to ask them directly.

Thanks
Marc

I seriously highly doubt that...chances are it's a base model with a few nice toys, meaning AC, power windows etc...if they are renting S4's...then err..I may have to fly down to LA for a weekend....

If it's part of the Prestige Collection, you'd be surprised - I've had *literally* top spec cars from Hertz in that group [y]

They have the A4 Cabriolet 3.2. Sorry not the S4 - I've rented these for the last two years when the no. 1 and I visit LA and Palm Springs, and will do so again on May 6th. It has the electric roof, cruise control, electric windows and seats, a decent stereo (not yet DAB which they have in the A6s ... or may do this year I'll let you know). If you can get one that is, they are popular and you have to book well in advance at busy times.

Also, Hertz do customize their cars, so for example if it comes with a navigation system they have the manufacturer remove it and put in the Hertz Neverlost system - which is never quite as good! I feel, but am not certain, that Hertz also have other minor modifications made to the spec. and trim - they buy so many and specify exactly what they want.

I've read that many people have actually rented S4's. Does seem too good to be true to me though. Did find this with reference to SFO

I would think if SFO had S4's then there is a very good chance that LAX will have. I guess it's pot luck!

I think that list is out of date, Hertz don't have Jaguar's anymore, I've tried unsuccessfully to get an XJ8 at LAX for the last two years, in fact the last one I could get had to be driven from Miami to Key West specially for me, I think five years ago.

If you find a S4 then brill, let me know - I'll ask when I pick up my A4 Cabriolet in early May.
