Dress Code in LGW CH

Is there a dress code for the LGW CH? and if yes what is it? And if its smart- casual ca someone give me a clue as to what that actually means - jeans and a T shirt, or smart trousers only? or is all this old hat and if you have an UC ticket you can get in as long as your not naked?!

Jeans and t-shirt are fine.

Save your torso for the hot tub at the LHR CH.

I was naked under my clothes in the CH...was worried about being found out the entire time but managed to elude the skin police.

As for what to wear, it's a shame anyone would have to ask but of course it would be:

* A clean suit of a sober stripe or dark solid
* A pressed white shirt
* One's school tie
* Shined shoes
* A smart bowler hat
* A boutonnire appropriate to the season in one's lapel

I'm not one for being bitchy... [;)] and I'm sure none of the v-flyers have been in the LHR CH at the same time as me... but boy oh boy.

You would think there was a reverse dress code. [:p]

I expected high fashion, Jackie O's, even an Eddie Monsoon wouldn't have gone amiss. A little current style people, please.

What did I get? Well, all I can say is Primark must have had a sale on XXL tracksuits that week. [V] Bleh! I was wretching all the way to the Cowshed. [:o)]

I couldn't agree with you any stronger GJ - in my short time expierence of the Clubhouses, I have noticed velour track suit type things seems to be de rigueur at LHR Clubhouse these days. Perhaps you & I should set up a 'pressure group' to bing back style at 38,000 feet ! [:?]

It is indeed an eclectic mix of 'fashion' in the CH's - I do think there should be a 'no tracksuit' rule though. Juicy Couture whatever - it looks minging. Actually, a 'no sportswear' rule would be better - I think it should be decreed that wearing a football shirt whilst travelling should be a criminal offence, even the under 10's.

The title of the thread should be re-named Dress Code in London CH.

I do wonder if it has something to do with being able to buy entrance either through CH or at the dooor. Recently I had to wait for over 10 mins as the 'receptionist/hostest' processed payment for two of our tracksuited gues. I showed her both my purple boarding pass and gold card but was ordered to wait !! Which I did as she took payment for these guests to enter and 'feel at home' as her departing works to them rang in my ears ---- grrrr what I am doiug here then I asked ? 'It is a priviledge for you but they bought the right of entry!! ' Surely this cant be right ! Call me a snob but even in VH brochure it says something like smart casual - tracksuits it aint !! Grrrr

Please tell me the receptionist did not say that to you? Is good service really that hard to find nowadays. 10 mins is outrageous, and I would have simply walked into the CH - find me when you're not cocking about.

Richard - 10 mins may have been a slight exageration but she did - and believe me I did try and walk into th club house but she stood an yelled at me. At that point I became all British, stood where I was told and waited (rather embarrassed).

Next time I will (try) and be more brave . . . .a real Dragon she was/is, plus there was only one at the podium for a change !
