Never booked a CDC with miles before ... my question is, how late can the car be booked (i.e. is there a minimum number of days before the flight that applies)? I looked on the VA Web site without success ...

Technically, it's 24 hours, but I'd always allow a little more than that I think...

Errrr - my money's on no.

Slinky make sure you are in the catchment area for Miles cars. We got caught out by this recently ... we live outside the M25 so no car for us. Ok so officially its the Home Counties but when you live up North it may as well be the M25.

Thanks - I'm lucky I live in the centre of the M25 area!

Good luck Paul on tomorrow's car!

I'm thinking of booking a car with miles for my trip at Christmas. How reliable are the cars, do they have big enough cars to accommodate 5 people? [:X]

The UK cars are Volvo estates (S60 or S80 I think). They are comfortable for the driver and 3 passengers. 4 passengers wouldn't be advisable unless very small :)

The US (NY and SF anyway) cars are generally black towncars or navigators and would cope with 5 ( driver + 4 pax) more easily.

I did a J to Tokyo last month, and the car at Narita was a very tired old mitsubshi taxi with a VA sign stuck to the back. I nearly had the embarrassment of not being able fit into the seatbelt - I'm 6 ft 3 and carrying a bit of timber these days, but not that big !!

I've had no problems with reliability - all are professional and satnav makes it hard to get lost anyway...

Last time I was in the ClubHouse I chatted to a couple who had the CDC from the West Midlands. I think it must depend on factors such as how much you pay for your ticket?
