quote:The Met has launched new innovative crime prevention advice for tourists visiting London who arrive by aeroplane.
In association with Virgin Atlantic, a three-minute crime prevention video will be played on flights into the UK as part of the in-flight entertainment.

The project was conceived at the Marylebone Against Crime Group meeting in August 2003 as an effective way to target large audiences bound for the capital.

Basic safety advice such as not leaving bags unattended, safety around cashpoints and personal safety feature on the video.

indeed, it seems to me to be very generic advice, that could apply to any major city on the planet.

Don't know why it is only shown in respect of London.

I'll take a look at in a few weeks, and see what all the bother is about!

I imagine it's only shown with respect to London because it's a Met initiative. It sort of reminds me of the warnings about crime in guide books, which can seem a bit worrying until I remember that they're there for people from 'tiny communities where no body locks their doors' as well as those used to the mean ways of big cities.
