Does anyone have any recommendations for a good value & comfortable hotel close to Boston Logan airport? Our group of six will be overnighting it for 1 night on 5th June before collecting rental cars on the morning of the 6th and heading to Cape Cod. We'll have had a great day in the Clubhouse followed by the UC flight, so guess we won't be wanting to do too much that evening, other than relax!

Have looked around and rates seem pretty steep, but perhaps that's to be expected in June, eg. Embassy Suites $296.96 & Hilton Boston Logan $269.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Depending on your luggage situation, it may be as well getting a city centre hotel and using the Blue Line T into the city.

I stay at Marriotts whenever I can, but the same hotels have huge variation in rates - depending on time of year, and what is happening in the city.

The Boston South Courtyard offers a free shuttle from Logan, and it is right next door to a big shopping complex with Best Buy, Target, Circuit City and a few restaurants.

Last time we stayed there the Revere Courtyard also offered a free shuttle, but it is on the very busy Route 1 with very little in walking distance.

Might be worth checking out the Hilton that's actually connected to the terminal there.

Every now and then, they have a stonking rate - it's always worth a look, and it's literally IN the airport [y]

How about Priceline/ Hotwire (either for the airport area or city area itself). If you choose the city it's less hassle (paticularly with lots of bags) to get a cab into the city than use the T (you have to get a shuttle bus from the terminal to the T station)- cost us $20 (plus tip) from the Back Bay Sheraton to the airport by taxi last month. Some car hire firms also have depots at Copley Square.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I've got plenty to be getting on with now. Am especially interested in the bidding (through Priceline) option - have never gone down that route before!

I hadn't until our trip last month (Listened wisely to Honeylamb[:D]). Now Priceline is my best friend [:D][:D] . One night- if it's terrible so what!!! I used them for our six days in Cape Cod and Boston. Not a bad night anywhere!! We got the Sheraton Back Bay in Boston for about £240 (inc taxes) for 4 nights ,Hilton Garden Inn Plymouth for £37 (inc taxes - great 2 king bedded room) and Sheraton 4 Points Chatham Cape Cod (another great 2 king bedded room) £37 (inc taxes). Huge corner room on 25th floor in Boston- with river view and kitchen and separate work area-OK-upgraded becauseI'm SPG AU but who cares??.
Have a great time!!
