Just a quick post.

Am about to book a couple of nights in a Ritz Carlton in the States for my summer trip. Just wanted to see if anyone had been to one of their properties, what did you think, would you go back etc?

Also am a right in thinking, that despite being owned by Marriott, I cannot earn any Marriott or FC miles?

Thoughts and opinions will be gratefully received!

Not been to an RC in the US, but have recently been to one in SIN. A top class place, although I didn't rate it quite as highly as the Four Seasons.

Not sure about miles - more often than not I forget to claim them on hotels, although I did find this.

Cheers Howard.

Would have preferred the four seasons but alas there is not one in Sarasota and Im not really keen on going down to Miami to hang out with Z listers and be on the Atlantic Coast.

Think will give FC a bell to see if I can earn FC miles at the RC.

Hi,

I stayed at the RC in Marina Del Rey. Nice place, quiet and relaxed. Agree with others that it's not as good as Four Seasons properties but up there.

Have a good trip.

Stopped at a few RCs in the states and have always had good stays,if you like a drink go for a club room their freebie club lounges are very good.I have only stopped at a couple of north American four seasons hotels and I would rate RC better in my experience.Maybe the Philly and Vancouver FS are weak properties.
No mileage or hotel points can be earned at RC or FS properties.

Definitely Vancouver FS is weak, as is Sydney (although Sydney is in the process of being renovated now).

Vancouver FS has just had a refit to the bar and restaurant area now called Yew the service and food there were excellent. From desk were terrible, room was fantastic but it was one of the best 2 bedroom suites, standard rooms looked small and tired.

OK I am going to book this evening and will be looking into getting a club room.

I am particularly impressed by the RC Beach Club at this property.

I have been going to Sarasota since I was about three and the holiday inn and hilton have not changed at all. Taking that into account RC must be making a killing.

I've been reading the replies with interest. I'm passing through Vegas in July and have booked a club room for a couple of nights at the Ritz Carlton at the Lake Las Vegas resort.

Anybody have any experience of this particular RC? This will be my first time at any RC.

Was not really impressed with it to be honest, then again the Four Seasons here totally underwhelmed me as well. From friends that have stayed there the RC in Sarasota is very nice and just to echo clarkyson, the RC Marina Del Ray is also very nice.
