Since when is 31' 'two inches more than the best of any other economy arrangements'? Methinks Eric Adams hasn't flown on many of those other carriers.

Like one of the comments posted that these seats will toll the end of a 300lb neighbour spilling into your space. [;)]

Seen these designs many times before. I'd be interested to see if they ever make it into a real aircraft, but so far they've not really got past the concept stage.

From A.net
DL plans to introduce the seat on the 767-300ER and 777 fleets in 2010. DL also will be the world launch customer for the seat and will have exclusive rights in North America.

They look interesting but I still prefer the look of Cathay's new seat with the backrest that doesn't go back but reclines into itself. I also think Cathay's seat is a much more realistic option to make it into many other airline fleets.

I'm amazed at the comment which seems to be surprised at seatback TV's - shows how priviledged we are with VS and BA both having long since introduced PTVs and even AVOD!

Singapore also have those seats that recline into themselves rather than stealing a lot of space from the person behind you. They also moved as much stuff as possible away from the knee area and put it in the headrest, so you have a feeling of more space.

That said, it didn't stop me upgrading to business on the way back... [;)]

Regardless of the seat ergonomics, simple economics mean that a long-haul flight in Y will never be a truly comfortable experience, especially for those of us over 5'10'. Perhaps I should call myself vertically disadvantaged?

This was announced earlier this month on the 1st April which resulted in DL having to say that it was no joke!

The company that has designed the seats is based in the UK, I believe they are called Thompson Seating, or something.

As a side the a.net thread on this earlier in the month passed comment that VS had expressed some interest.

Airlines that have moved from MAS3000 IFE system to MAS EX2 will get this benefit.
Interesting point and SIA have this equipment on the B777-300ER and A380.
Would G-VSUN come out with something new perhaps?

Stop me if I'm wrong, but don't Virgin's new EC seats have that feature too?

Anyway these seats look rather interesting, but somehow they look less comfortable than the usual type of economy/coach seating. It's doubtful whether I'll ever fly Delta long haul anyway.
