Not sure on the background, but from what I could *see* in the video, it only had one of the two main U/C's down. So, a one-wheeled landing, coming out pretty neatly at the end = not a bad effort.

IIRC correctly, he received a radio message, got distracted, and dumped the plane down on grass missing the runway and ripping one UC off - then he took off again, flew on to BIR and landed successfully.

I flew out of BHX to Faro the same morning, it was very busy, the football was in Germany at the time and many people were flying out to see it. I spent one hour sitting on a plantpot thing with my sister then as soon as we poached a seat at the cafe our flight was called and we took off with less runway.
