BAA employ trojan tactics at LGW Fastrack

Now imagine my horror whilst standing in a very long line at Fastrack at LGW for yesterday's VS 27 to see the vast majority of people around me were holding orange easyJet boarding cards [:o)]

I'm sure LRoM will like to comment on LCC's using fastrack [:0]

Reason 199 why BAA and Gatwick should part company forthwith [:D]

BTW there was no line in the normal channel so perhaps I should have gone through there instead [:(!]

But when I was at LGW a couple weeks ago dropping off my sibling, I took a look at how Zone A was looking now that VS have had a shuffle (and wanted to see if Ag Check was still present). I noticed oposite is now all EasyJet checkin, and there was a large sign in regards to 'Speedy Boarding Plus' - I wonder if they have noticed another opportunity for a cash option here - as BAA will let airlines use FastTrack, but there is a fee as such per passenger. And are BAA going to say no to extra revenue at the detriment of making FastTrack congested? Don't be so silly.

To worry you even further LROM, last month I had a quick walk through zone A when picking up the GF from her flight. It was 5pm on a Saturday and all of the VS desks (with the exception of three for Twilight Check in) were proudly displaying the Easyjet logo on their screens. I almost fell over in shock but it seems that VS desks are used by other carriers during down time.

Definitely not the case at Stansted, though the number of airlines that use the Fast Track channel there declines by the week. It seems a bit odd if EZY are paying BAA as I thought the whole raison d'etre of SB+ was to raise bundles of cash with zero outlay.

Maybe, but say if BAA charged £1 per pax to EZY, and EZY charged £3+ to the passengers - 66% margin will be right up their street. I see your point that the other bits of Speedy Boarding and SpeedyBoarding + actually cost them nothing, but if they can make the package look even more tempting for a small outlay.

We regularly use EZY's Speeding Boarding Plus ex LGW but there has never been mention of being allowed to use Fastrack [:?] Perhaps this is no more than a case of a group of EZY passengers accidentally ending up in the wrong queue and wrongly being allowed to pass through? No mention of Fastrack being included on EZY's website, as Paul says - perhaps a trial?
