I've got a few Tesco Clubcard vouchers that are due to expire soon (tomorrow) and wondering what to do with them travel wise. I'm tempted to exchange them for VH vouchers but am a bit concerned about the restrictions listed in the T+Cs. I know BA miles/ airmiles are an option also as are exchanging them for other tour operators (none of which I fancy).I've got 176 worth that need to be used or converted to something else. Anybody used them (successfully)against holiday bookings?
Thanks

Order £5 worth of deals online (tesco.com deals site), type in the numbers of all your vouchers at the payment stage. Any change due (i.e £171 in this case), is added to your next clubcard statement with a new expiry date. Worked for me a month ago.

I believe you can contact Tesco as well and they will let you return the vouchers and re-issue with a new expiry date. I just found using the web easier than waiting in a telephone queue!

Thanks for the info Grebo- I didn't know they could be rolled over. Have just phoned Tesco who have indeed rolled them over and they also found some other unused (and already expired) vouchers sitting in my account and have rolled them over too[y]

The best thing you can do is go to http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals

You can redeem them through the checkout stage and are quadruple the value of your tokens (in most cases). I had £50 worth and converted that to £200 voucher for a weekend break at Marriott...

The vouchers come very quickly and have a six month validity.

PS I know of four friends who have used them VERY successfully to book holidays - most of the tour operators that work with the Clubcard Deals stipulate a minimum purchases (between £500 - £1000) of the cost of the BASIC holiday cost - you cannot use the vouchers against the extras, but it saved them £££'s!!

We convert to BA miles and have averaged 75k BA miles per quarter for the last 3 years, but it is getting harder less and less offers only managed 50k last conversion.Another good use is to convert to Goldsmith vouchers 4x face value for a nice watch.Whatever you do don't do as SIL did convert them for a stay at Alton towers[V][:D]

I've got a nice watch, and a very nice watch so Goldsmiths vouchers are a non-starter.Staying at Alton Towers?[:0]A day trip is more than enough thanks! I've thought about ditching the VS Black Amex and opting for the BA fee paying Amex (because of their decent companion deal) and cashing in the vouchers for BA miles. Are redemption flights reasonably easy to find in CW and F?
50-75k miles a QUARTER????[:0]Gulp!

One can never have too many nice/very nice watches[:D]

We have 3 Amex premium plus cards in the family and have always managed to find availability somewhere on the required dates, you just have to be a little flexible.150k for 2 F flights is outstanding value,JFK,ORD,NRT,HKG(last 2 are 240k) are always available we have also managed redemptions to SFO,LAX,YVR,YYZ,BOS and BAH.SIN,BKK and SYD are a nightmare to get hold of as are the south American routes.
CW availability is about the same but when it's tight there is always the option of booking one way F and the other J.Another good use of miles is upgrading WT+ to CW for 25K rtn with the advantage you earn miles and TPs on the WT+ fare.

[:D]indeed . It's a shame that Watches of Switzerland (part of Goldsmiths group) won't accept the vouchers (I did try!!).
Final question- are the companion vouchers valid with all fares (sale included)?.If so the MBNA card is under serious threat of being given the chop.
Thanks

You can only use the Amex 241 voucher with miles redemption and flights have to be from the UK,you can however upgrade all WT+ fares (inc sales) to club

I don't know if you can or not sorry[:?] but if you can its a really poor use of miles, WT+ ain't much better than Y, same food and service bit more room.A bulkhead in Y is just as good, but doesn't earn miles and TPs on discounted fares.
