'"The Boss' has decided she wants to go to Toronto for her birthday this September as she has always wanted to visit Niagara Falls.
So I have a few questions for my fellow V-flyers:

1) Planning on spending a night at a hotel at Niagara but how many days will we need in Toronto itself and what is there to do?

2)Want to earns some Miles/Tier points so planning on Flying VS to either New York or Boston and then making the short hop up to YYZ

Flying via BOS is good, also ORD but that's a bit further and to be honest ORD is such a hellhole for delays I wouldn't bovver.

But, I think only United and AA fly direct BOS-YYZ so no further miles earning potential with VS. But I'd still do BOS if you don't want the direct AC flights.

I love Toronto - I'd say two nights is enough however unless you plan to take some real down time and go find a lake to chill by in a 'cottage' as they call 'em (weekend cottaging is the term to allow some fellow V-Flyers a good sn*****). I like this hotel:

In fact I lurve it ... if your budget allows, there are great restaurants and bars in the vicinity and an easy walk to say the CN Tower.

As for to doing, Toronto beer bars are some of the best on the planet
but then that might not be totally appropriate [:w].

If they're on a MD80 and you like the connection book 'em - but try to get the two seats on the LHS rather than have two of the three on the RHS, they're much better.

I went to Toronto in '06, flying into BOS then getting an AA flight into YYZ. The AA flight was delayed, and I did start to wonder why I hadn't flown direct, however if you have some company with you, and perhaps a Priory Pass to get you into a lounge, then it should be ok.

You'd probably get a better VS plane if you flew to NYC though, if that matters to you? Also depends on timings of the other flights, you don't want to be hanging round too much.

I'd say 2 or 3 days in Toronto is enough. I stayed at the Delta Chelsea, in a Signature Club room, was ok for my needs.

All 4 daily flights are on a ER3 which has 13 rows of a 1-2 configuration, sounds like a small plane[:)]

Well stayed at the Renaissance Toronto last weekend. Nice place. Here is the view from the bar/restaurant. They also have rooms that have HUGE glass windows facing the stadium. The hotel is IN the stadium. It is really in the stadium.

BOS gets a rotation of VS LHR places, so just as good as New York!

We stayed at the Hilton last year fantastic location with a very good exec lounge, but I have heard bar is pay as you go now, it was all free, food presentations where very good.It was a long time since I had been to the falls and I couldn't believe how incredibly tacky its become, but the falls are still a fantastic sight, particularly in winter.

I have been to Toronto 3 times and most recent was last summer. I took VS to JFK for a short trip then spent 10 days in Toronto. Booked on a Delta flight from JFK to YYZ for £107 each way and earned 500 flying club miles per sector.

As in Toronto, CN Tower and Niagara Falls is a must. Plan to spend most of your day in Niagara Falls. Make sure you get a photo with the Falls and a rainbow in the background. Maybe watch a ball game at Rogers Centre. Have to say there isn't much to do in Toronto and 'The Boss' can do some shopping at Eaton Centre or Bloor Street East and West.

Have also stayed at the hilton. One of the better ones, and got a reasonable rate also.
