Wooo Hooo!!!! the seat map has been updated and we are now in the bubble! [:D]

Had a bit of a scare when I saw that we had been automatically allocated seats downstairs, and that the majority of the bubble was blocked out and not avilable for booking, but it must be my lucky day because 79AC and 78 AC were availabe which is what I was hoping for after reading the reviews on here - the kids can recline into the stairs behind and hubby and I can recline into the kids so a guilt free fully reclined flight for us!

I'm a very happy bunny indeed [:D]

Thank you to everyone on this site, I would have had no idea about the changes etc had it not been for you guys xxx

I'd take 79AC yourself and put the kids in front... That way you get the 'drinks table'...

Is the table in the arm of the chair like in bulk head seats? does that make the seat slightly narrower?

It's not a table as such but it is next to the seat on the aisle side and people have commented how useful it can be for you to place your drink. There is no difference to the width of the seat

Thats a fab photo thanks! I had no idea what the cabin interior/seat actually looked like because all the pics on VA website are of the new PE so at least now I have an idea of what to expect!

I will try to keep my stupid questions to a minimum, but Im confused about something - where is the tray table? all the flights Iv taken they drop down from the back of the seat infront of you?

Right, off to read trip reports! [:)]

they are all in the armrests - (79A is partially open in the photo).

LOL You'd be surprised at the number of people who are fooled by where the tray tables are - and proceed to tug at the wrong armrest when the crew instruct them to look there [:)]

Once i saw a chap in the upstairs PE exit row demanding compensation for not having a seatback TV. Imagine his quickly reddening face when the crew member slid the TV set out from underneath and said 'what, this TV Sir?' [:D]

Thanks,
Sarah

Ptarmigan, you will lurrvve 79A-C - they are our absolute favourties PE seats. The present Mrs Treelo always bags 79C for the sole reason that she gets 'her' side table [:p] Enjoy!!

Another vote here for 79AC. They are the best PE seats on the LGW 747s. The other benefit, if you're organised when you arrive, is you are at the front of the queue to get down the stairs and be amongst the first off the plane which is a boon with US immigration.

Enjoy your flight.

I am really looking forward to this flight again now, you lot are fab [y]

The peace and quiet, a bit more space (and alcohol [:I]) will be a welcome relief on this flight, especially seeing as we are having to fly for 24hrs courtesy of the military before we even get to Gatwick!

No such joys of picking your seat, IFE, alcohol, upstairs bubbles, extra leg room and friendly cabin crews on that flight, your told where to sit, when to sit and shut up and deal with it [:0]

The scenery is usually always nice though.....especially if Royal Marines are on board [:w]

As a celebration you could also order champagne on board to really cap it all!

I'm travelling to MCO in September and have pre-booked seats 74A/C since i thought they would have better recline since they're in front of the exit. Do you think I should change to 79A/C?

Virgin-gal -

From the seat reviews 74a/c look like good seats, as you say you have guilt free recline.

I gather from most people on here they like 79a/c because your one of the first off the aircraft which is a huge bonus in hitting immigration before everyone else, also you wont have people walking past you to use the toilets and your close to the galley for drinks etc. I was a bit concerned that the recline on 79a/c might be a bit limited because the stairs are directly behind but that doesnt seem the case at all.

I think you will have great seats no matter which ones you choose [:)]

(74a/c were not available when I got into the seat map so someone somewhere obviously likes those seats!)

I am pretty sure 79A/C still have full recline - there is a fair bit of space behind the seats.

These are our fave seats too. You can recline in peace. Have a great flight X
