Although it wasn't for a technical reason, G-VWOW did operate for the majority of the summer season on the LGW-BGI route as VHols had a special sale on.

This was last March on a flight to Tobago and it was a last min a/c switch as there were over 30 op ups if I remember correctly. Not one of our best flights.

I just had the following response to my question: Will any of the Gatwick based aircraft have the new PE seats in September this year?

Dear Jake

Thank you for your email.

I would like to inform you that the aircraft (Boeing 747-400 series) to be operated on London Gatwick Antigua routes has the new Premium Economy seats fitted.

However, we cannot guarantee the 'Super Seat' will be on your flight due to possible aircraft and operational change.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard.

Kind Regards

Contact Centre Customer Service Team

So, maybe there will be a chance of the new seat!

I won't hold my breath though!

Tut tut, someone at the Contact Centre Customer Service Team needs to do a bit more research into the company. NONE of the London Gatwick based 747-400 have the new Super Seat installed.

Does anyone have any update to this?

I am flying PE next May for the Honeymoon and would love for decent IFE.... Not so much bothered about the seats.

Apart from the seats, is the rest of the PE service on Pre-Update aircraft the same ?

Yep, pretty much. If you get the old seats you'll still get the 'new' service with meals served in crockery with metal cutlery and the fresh fruit and warmed breads. Well, that's what you 'should' get anyway. [:)]

Thanks,
Sarah

I've done a couple of TRs on the UVF route recently. I've also taken a few photos of the bubble

Having travelled on the PVG route in PE only a few months ago I don't think there was much to differ - apart from the second meal service with sucked big time - I'm guessing that's to do with the flight time being 4 hours shorter rather than it being a LGW route.

Yep, the second meal service on (usually) East Coast flights and Carribean routes isnt much to write home about. This is the one area that really lets PE and has been the subject of a number of threads here. I really hope that VS will improve this at some stage.

Thanks,
Sarah

I have said a few times recently, that Odyseey and even Nova IFE are still good systems and offer lots of choice and variety. Ok they don't offer the huge selection that V-Port does, but the only other main difference is the ability not to pause/play etc when you want, but that really didn't bother any of us on recent flight.
