iTunes in the USA for a Brit.

Is there anyway for a user with a UK account to buy material from the US site when we are in the USA?

Whilst in the UK I can't buy material from the US iTunes site on my UK account. Is this because it is a UK account or because it recognises my UK IP address?

If it is because it recognises my account as UK one, can I open a second one in the US, or buy iTunes vouchers, and then mix and match the US and UK content on my iPod?

Any help / advice gratefully received. [:D]

Buy some US iTunes gift cards from the Apple store. Set up a US account, and authorise that to play your UK music (or vice-versa) within the software.

Bingo - you can now add USD$ gift cards to your US Apple ID, buy/play US music/videos, and still keep your UK stuff and ID intact.

You have them combined, Ben - but have to 'authorise' the other account (depending on which UK/US account you want to use as 'lead') in order to play music purchased through the non-lead store account from the other country.

I have my UK account (lead) authorised to play music purchased with my US account. All in the same itunes.

I do as well but I use my parents US Bank account to set the whole thing up. I was under the impression you need a US bank account to set up a US Itunes account? Does the gift card thing get round it?

Yes, you just say 'none' to the payment option, otherwise you need a card with a US address.
