In Sept I will be visiting San Francisco and Las Vegas with my Mum as a treat for her 65th birthday.

I have sorted accomodation in SFO, and have narrowed it down to one of the 2 bedroom suites in Mandalay Bay, or a 1 bedroom suite at the MGM Signature in Vegas. I wanted somewhere were there was seperate rooms for a little privacy.

After a bit of research on Tripadvisor etc, I noticed a lot of people mentioning that they booked the Signature directly with the owner on vrbo.com, and the prices were cheaper.

I was wondering if anybody on here had done this, and if so, did they have a particular owner they could recommend. Or maybe a V-Flyer could be an owner.

Thanks

Richard.

The Signiture have lots of different offers on their site which often work out cheaper. Go to http://www.vegashotelspecial.com and they have all the offers going on in the hotels.

Thanks for taking the time to reply sunsational.

I've been checking all the various sites that list the Vegas deals, but none of the hotels I am looking at are offering the dates I require (21 -24 Sept).

I'll hold out a bit longer and maybe my dates will come up.

Richard, without doing a search, you have stayed at the Signature before right? Or am I even more senial than I look (fellow mods do not answer this question!) So if my memory (or is it my imagination?) has not let us down; if you have not sampled a suite at the MB then go for it, variety, etc., etc..

BTW just incase, and it happens occasionally [:D], I have got it wrong, there are some great pics of the Sig (some by yours truly) in the gallery.

Hi Bazz,

I've stayed at the MGM Grand before, but not the Signature.
I do like the suites at MB, but they are slightly out of my range at the moment, although there is still time for a deal before Sept.

Thanks for the heads up on the pics, and I won't mention anything about your senility[:D].

we've stayed at the signature last year and its the hotel we've ever booked to stay at again (easily bored) . we looked at mandalay bay but long walk from 'the beach' and rooms looked darker, although fractionally bigger.

As oters have said, the Signature is a fantastic property.

Be wary of the VRBO deals, whenever I ahve looked into them, they have only been marginally cheaper.

With the VRB-Owners I ahve dealt with thus far, I ahve had to really drag out all the added costs from them. The headlien rate has NEVER been the true rate.

Things to look out for are a $25 folio charge (impossed by MGM for setting you up with a bill/folio), cleaning fees, check out fees, laundry fees and check whether or not you will be charged the resort fee.

I do sympathise with the psoition some Signature owners have found themselves in, but for peace of mind, convenienece and only a few $ more on a 4-5 break, I would look for a deal and book direct.

Although I have never stayed there, another option might be Trump tower, totally different location to Signature and Mandalay but I see plenty of offers floating around for them.
